The Blue Roof Foundation was a guest on South Shore Vibe, hosted by Brian Peddar and broadcast on TVRS (Télévision Rive-Sud). Colomba Volpe, vice-president and co-founder, and Stéphane Poissant, president and co-founder, shared the Foundation's project and mission.
What we talked about
The Blue Roof Foundation is a non-profit organization developing permanent, specialized housing for autistic adults, with or without an intellectual disability, who require ongoing care.
Colomba spoke about her son Thomas, 22, and the realities families face every day: high sensory needs, the challenge of fitting into day programs, and above all the question that comes up again and again in our conversations — “what will happen to our son or daughter when we are no longer there?”
Stéphane noted that the Foundation, incorporated in February 2026, is in its pre-development phase. At this stage, the priority is to listen: to hear families' stories, understand their needs, and meet with partners in the field to build a model that fits, here and elsewhere.
