Our founders and board members

The Blue Roof Foundation is built on the strength, expertise and humanity of its leadership team. Each member brings a unique perspective — shaped by professional excellence, lived experience and a shared commitment to creating safe, adapted and permanent housing.

Vice-President & Co-Founder · Visionary Leader

Colomba Volpe

Colomba is the visionary leader behind the Blue Roof Foundation. Her Italian heritage of generosity and solidarity gave her a childhood filled with warmth and responsibility toward others — a foundation that made her the empathetic, determined and community-driven woman she is today. Her life mission took shape early: supporting her Deaf brother, then raising two autistic children, including a son living with an intellectual disability. Vice-President of Finance at Ernest Hotte Inc. and Plomberie Syracuse, with years of experience in rehabilitation services as well, she is hands-on in advancing the project from paper to land — building not just housing, but true homes. Her leadership is defined by collaboration, relationship-building and deep compassion for families seeking stability and peace of mind. She is the heart and the driving force of the Foundation's mission.

Stéphane Poissant

President & Co-Founder · Strategic Architect of the Foundation

Stéphane Poissant

President and owner of Ernest Hotte Inc. — a general contractor specializing in roofing since 1930 — and vice-president and co-founder of Plomberie Syracuse, Stéphane brings the Foundation strategic thinking, innovation and an exceptional network. 1st Vice-President of the CRCA (Canadian Roofing Contractors Association) and past president of the QMRA (Québec Master Roofers Association), he chaired the technical committees of both associations for many years. Ten years ago, when Stéphane met his wife, he embraced the world of autism wholeheartedly: a devoted family man, he understands the daily challenges families face. His mastery of financial structuring and project management, along with his expertise in smart homes and AI, shapes environments that support autonomy and well-being. He is dedicated to making the Foundation a reference in specialized housing in Québec.
