What we collect, why, and what your rights are — in plain language.
Effective July 16, 2026
The Blue Roof Foundation is a Québec non-profit organization. We collect as little personal information as possible, and only to respond to your requests and further our mission. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what your rights are, in accordance with Québec privacy law (Law 25).

What we collect
1. The contact form
When you write to us through the website form, we collect your first name, last name, email address and the content of your message. We use this information solely to reply to you and follow up on your request. A word of advice: please avoid including medical or other sensitive information in your message.
2. Cookies
Our site is hosted on the HubSpot platform, which may set analytics or functionality cookies. On your first visit, a banner asks for your consent, category by category: no non-essential cookie is set without your agreement. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link. We also honour your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
If you accept them, these cookies and server logs may collect, among other things, your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This data is used solely for traffic statistics, never to identify you personally.
3. Donations
Donations are made through Yapla, an external platform specialized for non-profits. Your payment information is entered and processed directly by Yapla: it never passes through our website and we have no access to it. Yapla's privacy policy applies to those transactions.
Where your information is stored
Form submissions are stored in HubSpot, our contact management tool, protected by recognized security measures. HubSpot's servers may be located outside Québec, notably in the United States: by writing to us, you consent to your information being stored outside Québec, under equivalent contractual protection commitments.
For how long
We keep your information for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain our relationship with you, then destroy it securely. You may request its deletion at any time.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your personal information.
- We share it only with our technical providers (HubSpot, Yapla) or when required by law.
- We will not send you communications without your consent.
External links
The site contains links to Facebook (our page and group) and to Yapla. These platforms have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Your rights
At any time, you may:
- request access to the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate;
- withdraw your consent or request its deletion.
Write to us at info@fondationtoitbleu.org: we will respond within the 30 days provided by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
In the event of a privacy incident
Should a privacy incident involving your personal information present a risk of serious harm, we would notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top of the page indicates the version in force. Any significant change will be announced on the site, and we will never reduce your rights under this policy without your consent.
